Maharashtra leads the way in RERA registration

Pune, Maharashtra is beating every other state on a number of RERA registrations. Around 18,000 ongoing projects have been registered in the country, Maharashtra has registered nearly 12,900 ongoing projects with the MahaRera authority and around 9,176 projects among these have already been issued RERA certificates.

According to the TOI news, the state continued the registration even after the July 31st deadline has crossed with the imposed penalties. It is stated that, after August 16, each case will listen independently and the fine will be imposed accordingly.

The country with 36 states and Union territories, around 24 states have placed RERA with either permanent or temporary regulator has been appointed. In most states, the registration is yet to pick up the pace.

Which leads to the concerns of how the regulator will track all ongoing projects in the state that are not registered.

On the contrary, the penalty amount was increased to at least Rs 1 lakh till August 16, and for further registration, it was decided to deal with each case independently.
