So far, SPA
had given the developer power to prepare land-use plans for its jurisdiction,
develop the respective land, sanction constructions and even take action
against irregularities. This was done in the stark absence of an administrative
body specially structured to handle issues under the jurisdiction of Pune
Metropolitan Region. Then Janwani entered the scene and coordinated with
various government bodies like PMC, PCMC Municipal Councils and Gram Panchayats
within the PMR.
This sure is
a welcome news for the Puneites in general-as this would mean Pune is now
poised for a more systematic, organized development and more advantages that
come as a corollary. For the home buyers too, the emergence of PMRDA is
certainly a good news. Now, they would be able to expect fair practices in the
realty world; rendering the whole exercise of buying a home easier.
PMRDA had a meeting with the Lavasa authorities and it was decided that Lavasa
was to change its ‘exclusive’ status of a ‘Gated community’ and adapt a new and
‘inclusive’ one of ‘A City for all’ in a bid to welcome tourists and people on
vacation. This would give Puneites a veritable, plush retreat without having to
better late than ever; and Puneites would readily agree with a radiant smile!
